Willis is an independent media artist and freelance programmer. Previously,
director of distribution and special educational projects for the Checkerboard
Film Foundation, she has worked in commercial and feature production (IATSE
481) with directors Michael Apted, Ed Zwick and Carol Ballard, and in
theater with Sarah Caldwell's Opera Company of Boston. Her recent programs
include tributes to cinema-verite filmmaker Ricky Leacock, to anthropological
filmmaker Robert Gardner, and to the work of Leonard Bernstein on Film.
A graduate of Wellesley College, her most recent film is a documentary
